Welcome to the home of the campaign to keep middle bar just the way it is!
We lost :(
Just to make it clear, the campaign fizzled out and the middle bar was lost (the website is back as its AWESOME). EUSA did not fulfil its promise of additional study space and the middle bar has ceased to be of any use the entire year. The more suspicious part of me thinks it would be too much of a loss cashwise for EUSA to have 1 less bar in the festival but hey, what do I know!
The library bar is all shiney and clean but has no atmosphere, distinct lack of the atmos down there in the cellar and they are more anal than ever about drinking games. We got kicked out for having a hopping competition, and one of our party got kicked out for just being with us, despite not being with the group and not doing anything untoward such as hopping.
RIP Middle Bar, you were for a more appreciate union - and the people who knew you will never forget you!
Posted by Alex Bunting on Friday 13th June 2008 Middle Bar week So the campaign to get signatures and support is underway as of today. Hopefully by friday we should have enough signatures to make EUSA sit up and listen. If you would like to get involved please see the "get involved" page.
Posted by Alex Bunting on Monday 6th November Middle Bar as of today By the way - I know it looks like there doing major work in Middle Bar at the moment but don't worry - there only plumbing in the radiators. It should all be back and running soon!
Posted by Alex Bunting on Wednesday 25th October More Updates The Middle Bar page has been updated with the story of Teviot and how this group came to fruition, it has pictures and all sorts so why not go have a read!
I also updated the agenda slightly as a cybercafe isn't one of the plans EUSA has.
Posted by Alex Bunting on Wednesday 25th October Updates The Facts page has been updated with lots of information about the whole Teviot Renovation project. I added a new line to our agenda stating how this campaign also has the goal of making students more aware of the Teviot plans.
I plan to make a text only version of this site soon - I'm aware how ridiculous it is having a site only work in one browser and to those who currently have no access I am very sorry.
Posted by Alex Bunting on Thursday 19th October Site up and campaign underway! So the campaign has started. I'll just stick up a brief synopsis of what we are all about for the moment as everything isnt quite set up properly (all of this only started about a week ago, and the "campaign" only really started a day or two ago).
So the site is up too, a few notes...
- You should use firefox to view the site, as that's what it's designed for and looks silly in other things as tbh im too lazy to recode the entire thing to work well in IE!
- Best views in resolutions greater than or equal to 1024x768. Anything lower and you might encounter clipping.
- The forum is not for spam, but for campaign related issues! :)
Keep watching this page for updates to the site - not everything is complete and it will be fleshed out in the coming days.
